clearing a living space using mother nature’s intelligence to dispel entities that hinder

vital to recognize the importance of periodic energy clearing within your home

after months of hibernating at home during the long winter and spring days, and/or a series of arguments in your home or mental confusion, it's no wonder a large buildup of stagnant energy may have accumulated within our living spaces. this dense energy can clog the circulation of fresh vibes, restricting the flow of positivity that we need in our lives. however, we can harness the intelligence of Mother Nature to dispel these entities and restore harmony within our homes. here are some ways to create a healing shift:

  • sage, copal (resin), specific crystals, sea salt and palo santo are the most potent energy purifiers

  • nature holds immense power and wisdom capable of revitalizing our physical bodies and our energetic selves. open windows wide and let air flow freely. bring plants into our living spaces, they are conduits of pure oxygen and purifies the air we breathe.

  • daily rituals like burning palo santo to invite positive vibes or smudging sage to dispel negative vibes

  • the practice of mindfulness, meditation or prayer allows us to create a space within ourselves to heal & let go, and invite positive energy so we can thrive

HERE are three 3 space purifying techniques to release the old, stagnant energy and bring in the new!

sage: the purifier

sage employed in indigenous cultures and in wisdom traditions all over the world for 1000s of years.  the sacred smoke is very powerful as it moves through the air, and the air element is associated with the mind so you can pray, or bless something or someone with intention

its impact is potent.  sage has been scientifically proven to be antibacterial & antimicrobial, actually killing microbes in the air.  for this reason it is known to help alleviate respiratory conditions.  sage is medicine for the air.  it also has a quality of energetically clearing the mind.  it banishes negative energy, assists in bringing focus, centering the mind.

it deepens our meditation and it can be used as a prayer offering and blessing in millennia.

it enhances our intuition, clears our mind and blesses us and our space.

i think it’s as useful as toilet paper really lol.

  • 1 sage smudge stick (found at most green food markets)

  • 1 fireproof container (ceramic bowl or shell)

  • 1 feather (optional, used to fan the smoke)

approach sage with clear intention.  hold the sage above the shell or bowl as you light it.  let the sage stick catch fire, and allow it to burn for about 30 seconds and blow out.

as the smoke wafts from the stick, first sage yourself using the feather to direct the smoke toward your body.  we suggest starting at the top of your head and working towards your feet.

open your front door and all the windows to allow the unwanted energy to be released.  starting at the front door, sage around the front door of the house, and walk inside.  begin smudging the space by moving counter-clockwise - this is symbolic of taking negative and unwanted energy out.  using feather or fan, waft the smoke into the corners of every room and up the ceiling.

when finished, extinguish sage stick and close windows.

sea salt + tourmaline: negativity removal

for reinforcement and/or to maintain a clear vibe devoid from mental, emotional entities such as stress, arguments, fear, panic etc

  • 1 glass jar

  • 2 tbsp sea salt

  • water to fill jar halfway

  • 1 piece black tourmaline (found at crystal shops)

draw blinds, open windows and pull back the curtains to allow fresh air and sunshine into your space.

sweep and clean your front door step (entrance of your home) to keep energy clean, positive and uplifted.

clean your stovetop - this represents your health and financial life.

hold your tourmaline in your hands and set an intention for your space.  command the crystal hold the intention of absorbing, purifying and clearing all unwanted energy of the space.

fill your jar halfway with water, add sea salt and tourmaline.

place jar in central area of your room or house for a few days.

palo santo: increases positive vibes (shown below)

best used after negativity removal or clearing ritual.

spiritual purifying and energy cleansing; for centuries the indigenous people of the andes have been using palo santo for spiritual purification and energy cleansing.  palo santo is one of the most fragrant woods in the world; its sweet scent of pine, mint, and lemon has, for centuries, known to be a harbinger of healing and good fortune.

burn palo santo sticks or use the charcoal for ritual smudging that will welcome creativity, love, and good fortune into your space. the wood can help brighten energy and promote feelings of positivity and joy.

the scent is also shown to reduce stress and anxiety, and enhance clarity and concentration, therefore calming the mind and mental ailments. palo santo wood does not boast a cure, but a smudging or essential oil practice integrated as part of a larger healing plan can provide some relief.  consider it aromatherapy; releasing a calming scent to the olfactory and limbic systems of the body and brain and in turn creating a sense of relaxation and calm.

supplies palo santo sticks, incense or oil (found online, aim for sustainable places, please avoid amazon as they often sell fabricated or manipulated versions, i love shamansmarket.com)

set an intention and light up stick or incense and let it burn in a central, supervised area until it extinguishes itself.  i have a bowl with sand collected from the beach and i place the stick into the sand to safely burn.
